Is Organic Bread Fattening?

Eating organic bread as a part of a well balanced diet definitely will not make you over weight or fat, although make sure you choose to eat the right sorts of bread and also watch what you put on it.

Organic wholegrain breads are low in fat content and high in fibre, also they have a low GI count. Organic wholegrain foods have a lot of health benefits and when used in conjunction with a diet, a recent study found, members of the study were more likely to lose weight.

Example:
  • Organic wholegrain toast, with organic tomatoes & low fat ricotta = 1090kj & 5g of fat
  • Regular toast with bacon & eggs = 1430kj & 24g of fat
If you live anywhere from the Sunshine Coast to Byron Bay I would highly recommend trying Sol Organic Breads.

Food for though.

Kikkoman Organic Soy Sauce

I was sitting watching t.v tonight and for the first time ever, I think, I have finally seen an advertisement for a certified organic food product - what a treat! I was really quite shocked to be frank but proud in another way.

The product I saw advertised was Kikkoman Organic Soy Sauce. Kikkoman has been committed to using non-GM products for quite some time.

Kikkoman Certified Organic Soy Sauce is made from Certified Organic Soy beans, combined with Certified Organic wheat, Certified Organic Salt and water - that's it.

As I understand it Kikkoman Certified Organic Soy Sauce is fermented naturally making a fresh and clean taste.

I have tried numerous soy sauces and think they are all great. It is, however, fabulous to see a big company, like Kikkoman, taking on such an awesome product.

Organic Meat ,beef,queensland

The future is look great for organic beef in Queensland, both nationally and internationally.

Recent figures indicate that organic beef sales have grown 80% in the last 4 years.

The nation's largest organic beef project says its optimistic about the future of the organic food sector both in domestic and international markets.

What does this say about the organic meat industry? Does it say much about the perception of organic meat to the average person?

Food for thought.

Organic Coconut Oil Benefits

Not All Fats Make You Fat

Often we see words like 'fats' & 'oils' used. However, a fat is usually considered solid at room temperature, when oils are liquid. The most important thing is the structure of the fats and oils. The awesome benefits of organic virgin coconut oil are mainly due to it's chemical structure.

Organic virgin coconut oil contain smaller medium-chain triglycerides (MCT's) than other fats. They are digested so much faster that regular fats that the body uses them as energy rather than storing them as fat. MCT's are used to produce energy similar to carbohydrates and are therefore not circulated in the blood like most other fats. For that reason, they do not supply fat to fat cells to contribute to weight gain. So, effectively, when using organic virgin coconut oil in your cooking, you can eat the same types of foods as you normally do, yet consumer way fewer calories.

Seems great and I can't wait to try it.
